At Respite Explorers we believe everyone is an individual and everyone is equal. We believe all should have the same opportunities, regardless of personal challenges.
Through creative adventures our aim is to provide opportunities that enable development. All our adventures are designed with the child at the centre of our thinking.
RESPITE EXPLORERS STORY
Why we exist:
Respite explorers was founded in October 2020 by myself, Emma Gleed. It was set up in memory of a young man, Keoni Millett, who I had the great privilege of working with for over 12 years, before he sadly passed away. During our time together we became like family and went on a massive life changing adventure. Keoni led me into 'his world.' He showed me how his world fitted into 'the world.' He taught me so much. I appreciated just how challenging even the simple things in life can be.
I felt that my time with Keoni was for a reason and when he passed away I decided in his memory, to carry on the work we’d shared together by enabling other children to have the same opportunities and experiences.
So, Respite Explorers was born… Born in loving memory of Keoni Millett, the boy that never gave up…

Beechwood - Is a quiet/safe space,
Where the children can take part in creative/sensory sessions, whist engaging with there peers. With an amazing secure outdoor area the fun never stops!
